Ms. Ashleigh is originally from Lawrence. She has 2 cats, Cat & Kitty, and 2 guinea pigs, Murray & Thorin. She is currently earning her Child Development Associates, plus holds over 130 hours of professional development. In addition to Googols, she has worked in preschool centers, in-home facilities, and a Waldorf-Steiner center over the last nine years. In her free time, she enjoys cross stitching, hiking, and spending time with her family. Ms. Ashleigh can be found in Baby Einstein’s, but also frequently in the front office. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask Ms. Ashleigh!


Caroline Robinson

Caroline hails from Kansas City and has a puppy named Rudy. She’s currently a junior studying English, Women & Gender Studies at KU. She’s also taken extensive courses in Education. In her free time she likes to cook, clean, walk with Rudy, and visit with her family. Caroline believes self-esteem and confidence start in the classroom and loves showing kids, They Can!


Myka Felch

Myka is a native Lawrencian and owns a pit bull named Hank. She started last year as an intern through Free State High School and now officially works for Googols. Myka is working on a Child Development Associates (CDA) and enjoys hiking, painting, thrift shopping, and watching movies.

Bernoulli's Babies
Beth's background has been mostly in special education. She began in the early 70’s at KNI in Topeka, KS. After getting married and starting a family, she went back to special education with early education in Indiana. Her family relocated back to Kansas in 1993, and choose Lawrence to be its home. She began working with Lawrence Public Schools in the special education vocational program, developing jobs, and ensuring employment. In 1999 she was lucky enough to become a stay at home nana for her grandchildren. As of January 2010 she has worked and played at Googols of Learning in the two year old room as the lead teacher. She says, “I am still happily married to my husband Larry, have three of the greatest adult children, and I am nana to nine of the most amazing grandchildren." She continues to thoroughly enjoy spending her work days as play dates with the wonderful two-year-olds at Googols of Learning. Ms. Beth also serves on our PBS Lead Team.


Reilly Conner

Assistant Teacher Bernoulli's Babies

Miss Reilly is a native Lawrencian and new to Googols in October 2020. She has babysat for friends and neighbors for a number of years and is excited to start caring for children in a professional learning environment. Outside of school and Googols, Miss Reilly enjoys playing softball, playing with her dog Ninja, and being with friends.


Alexa Lashbrook

Assistant Teacher Bernoulli's Babies

Alexa originates from KC, MO and is mom to one dog, Lola. She is currently a junior at KU studying Speech Pathology. She has been babysitting and nannying for several years and enjoys shopping and relaxing with friends in her free time.


Candace Finn

Candace is from Glenwood, Iowa and has a dog named Lincoln. She has worked in early childhood for seven years in daycares and schools and has been a nanny. Candace loves playing with her dog, thrift shopping, exploring Lawrence and Kansas City, painting, and hanging out with friends and family!

Hope Gregory is a native to Lawrence. She is currently studying psychology at KU and plans to graduate in 2024. After earning her Bachelor’s degree, she wants to go to Grad school. She has been teaching and working with children for the past three years. She’s volunteered through her church and various summer camps including Camp Barnabas and New City Fellowship in St. Louis. Outside of work and school, Miss Hope enjoys painting, drawing, thrift shopping, and watching movies.

Taiya and her two dogs are native to Lawrence. She is studying human growth & development at USD497 and has learned how important this stage of early childhood development is in life. She joined Googols so she could be a part of that exciting period in children’s lives. In her free time, Taiya likes being outside and visiting with friends.

Kelly moved to McLouth, KS, from Albany, MO, where she lived for 19 years. She grew up in Shawnee and graduated from DeSoto, so she’s feeling ‘home’ again. While in Albany she worked for the Albany R-III school district for 10 years in their preschool programs. Prior to that she stayed home to raise her two children. When she’s not at work you can usually find her at her son’s school events or her daughter’s softball games!  She says, “I’m a big kid at heart and love just sitting and talking to the kids at Googols, coloring and playing with play-doh.”

Micaela is a native Lawrencian with four-years-experience as an aide before coming to Googols. She is Ms. Kelly’s full-time assistant. Hudson is from Prairie Village, KS and is dad to a wonderful dog with three legs, named Chance. He is currently a college student majoring in Film & Media and minoring in Business. Over the years, Hudson has babysat regularly for families, and has coached at many sporting camps for children. In his free time, Hudson enjoys fishing and drawing.

Piper is from KCK and loves on her 3 adorable kitties. She joined Googols in April of 2021. She is currently a junior in nursing school at Baker University working on a Bachelor’s degree. As the daughter of a preschool teacher, she grew up in the early childhood environment. Even in high school she took psychology and child development classes. She enjoys spending time with family and friends and has come onto the new hobby of fostering shelter cats or dogs! She loves music, preferably live, and enjoys going to concerts. Lucy is from Golden, Colorado and is currently attending KU studying Elementary Education. She has two dogs named Dax & Dean. She works 10 weeks each summer at the camp in the mountains that she attended as a kid. She has also nannied for many years. In her spare time, Lucy loves to go hiking and hammocking. An ideal day would be a hike in the mountains and cooking dinner outside and camping. She likes the quote "different eyes see different things." It is a good reminder to be understanding of everyone’s background and understand that everyone views things differently and it’s a beautiful thing.

Jayden is from Lawrence and claims a black lab named Hondo! Jayden started last year as an intern and now officially works for Googols while attending the College and Career Center through USD 497. Jayden has a CNA, is currently working on getting a CDA and loves softball and babysitting. Jayden says, “One of my biggest feelings about children is that each child is different, and I hope to help children remember that, while also remembering, we’re all the same! I hope to help children remember we’re all friends and that they can trust me, that when they’re upset or hurt, I’ll be there for hugs, and when they’re happy and playing, I’ll be there to laugh and play with them!”

Anita Martin

Ms. Martin is the Fours lead at Googols. Who doesn't know Ms. Martin? A school teacher in the Lawrence Public School district for 19 years, she taught children from kindergarten through 6th grade. She's worked mostly in Lawrence, but a few years in Topeka as well. After retiring she continued to sub in the district before joining us here at Googols of Learning in August of 2008. A teacher with seemingly endless energy, Ms. Martin knows how to encourage the children to learn. In the classroom she is the teacher as well as a playmate, just as likely to get up and dance and play kickball with the children! Maybe it's those 4 boys she raised!

Ms. Georgie was raised in Junction City, KS. She recently graduated from KU with her BA in Unified Early Childhood Education. She was a childcare aide at Flint Hills Church for 5 years before coming to Googols. She lives with her cat, her gecko, and her turtle and in her free time enjoys sleeping and watching Netflix! Ms. Georgie has strong beliefs about her obligations to children:

Carmen Aquino-Velez

Ms. Carmen is recently from Lares, Puerto Rico. She has three lovely daughters, ages 28, 25 and 22 and a mischievous cat named Mino. Ms. Carmen is a bilingual speaker in Spanish, has a CDA certification and 15-years-experience in Early Childhood. She has worked in early childhood in two different centers back in Puerto Rico, including Head Start. One of her favorite pastimes is cooking and baking new recipes. Ms. Carmen wants you to know, she is a hardworking woman willing to give her best for the education and care of the children.

Mr. Diego originally hails from Kansas City, but is currently in Lawrence to attend KU. He is studying social work and wants to minor in applied behavioral science for Early Childhood Education. Before starting at Googols in September 2020, Mr. Diego worked at a summer camp and volunteered at two child care programs. He enjoys his two dogs and three cats, hanging out with friends, listening to music, riding bikes, and working out. Regarding young children, Mr. Diego believes, "They may forget what you said, but they will never forget how you made them feel."

Pamela King-Smith

Pamela is originally from North Carolina. She has two children who are KU grads and a 3rd child in high school here in Lawrence. Prior to coming to Googols, she worked as a substitute Teacher, primarily with kindergarten classes, and as an K-1 academic Para-educator. While she has worked in education she also studied art at Kansas State, and graduated from North Carolina State with a BA in History. Pamela’s passion is art and in her spare time she works as a freelance artist. Pamela believes in Albert Einstein’s words, “It is the supreme Art of the teacher to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge.”

Kaitlin is currently a junior studying Social Work at the University of Kansas. She is from Lenexa and parents a Morkie dog named Charlie. Kaitlin has been involved in First Aid training for the past five years. She loves to go on walks or runs, read books, and enjoys spending quality time with family and friends. Kaitlin’s favorite quote about children is: “Children must be taught how to think, not what to think.”

Ms. Cheryl is a native of Ottawa and has lived in Lawrence for 10 years. She has a bachelors in elementary education and taught for 20 years, kindergarten through 4th grade. She has 2 adult children and 3 beautiful granddaughters. When not spending time with them, she loves taking pictures and is learning to play the ukulele.


Samantha Moore

Kitchen Manager

Ms. Sam is a native Lawrencian and the mom to 2 kids and 2 pets (a cat & a dog). She was a preschool teacher for 15 years before coming to Googols to be our kitchen manager. She loves spending her free time with her kids or reading. Ms. Sam’s favorite quote is “For even the wisest can learn incalculably much from children.” – Rudolf Steiner.
